The Bioassays’ R&D branch is primarily focused on the development of molecular and cell-based tools for the detection and treatment of infectious diseases in both humans and farm animals.Bioassays is in close collaboration with research teams in the Centro de Biologia Molecular Severo Ochoa (CBMSO-CSIC) for these purposes.

Ongoing Bioassays’ R&D lines are:

  • Identification of pharma targets to treat the infection with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus type I (HIV-1).
  • Development of prophylactic vaccines against the African swine fever virus (ASFV).

Furthermore, we have developed a fast, sensitive and reliable test detecting different strains of Mycoplasma that is now available in the Bioassays’ services portfolio.
